Here are 10 tips for #relaxation.
1. Learn how to do nothing
Have you ever tried doing nothing? I don’t mean surfing the internet or watching Netflix on your couch. I mean sitting down and just soaking in life.
This is a lot harder than it sounds. Many quickly feel ashamed from #doingnothing. We are too used to the constant hustle and bustle of life, and the idea we should never “waste” time. Master this #simplepleasure and you’ll feel more rested and at peace throughout your day.
2. Get enough sleep
Never underestimate the importance of a good night’s rest. We live in a society where being overworked is the norm. People are always talking about how they only need 4 hours of sleep like it’s something to brag about.
3. Set aside time for your meals
We can’t always avoid eating on the go, but you should at least make the effort to sit down and eat. There are many scientifically proven benefits to taking our time when we sit down to eat.
It’ll keep you healthier, help your food digest, and give your body time to recuperate. You should never be too busy to eat.
There are so many ways you can #meditate. You don’t need to sit cross legged on the floor with your eyes closed to do it. It’s all about being present.
Breathe deeply and pay attention to your thoughts and your surroundings. You can do this sitting, walking, or even lying down. A few minutes of meditation every day can help reduce stress and promote #mindfulness.
5. Have fun
Think of things you can do to enjoy yourself. Everyone has a different idea of fun, so it really depends on you.
I would recommend picking up a #hobby, spending time with people, practicing a sport, exercising, or even reading a good book. Even the busiest people in the world have time for fun.
Don’t think of this as wasting time, think of this as an investment in your #wellbeing.
6. Listen to music
There is nothing like your favorite song to quickly make you forget all the nonsense. Good music could add life to almost any situation and is a sure way to help you relax.
Nowadays, finding music you like is easy. There are apps with algorithms to help you find the right songs, music blogs for your favorite genres, and music groups with the latest and greatest.
7. Watch a movie
There is a movie for everyone and the right movie can have a powerful effect on you. The beauty of cinema is its ability to capture our #imagination and make us think we are in the thick of the story.
Get lost in a romance, scare your socks off with horror, or laugh so hard it hurts with a comedy. Movies are a great way to relax and get our minds off the usual humdrum.
All the stress of the day can really build up in your body, making you tense and sore. Take some time to stretch and loosen up your muscles.
9. Have a conversation
Call your family, friends, or significant other. As long as you get along, it doesn’t matter who you call.
This is a great way to relax. Maybe you want to vent and talk about your day, or maybe you just want to hear a friendly voice.
10. Take a long bath/shower
A #hotshower or bath is a great way to relieve built up stress. Just sit in the water and let your mind wander.
Doing this will help you sleep better at night and is a powerful way to #calmthebody.
You should never be too busy to look after yourself. Use some of these tips to help you relax, so that you could start every day refreshed and ready to go. Relaxation is a key to success. Do not underestimate its benefits.
